Timeboxing
From RevTK
Timeboxing, in the context of language learning is the process of dividing tasks into time periods. Anki implements timeboxing functionality. Timeboxing is often used as a technique to combat procrastination, by reducing a task or series of tasks into manageable pieces; the idea is to end your work on the task, or study session, when the time limit expires, rather than when the task is completed. You may also limit study sessions by the number of cards reviewed, or limit a session by both time and cards, as in the combination dash. There are any number of ways a learner might manage their studies in this way, but one popular timeboxing technique that multiple RevTK forum members have mentioned is the (10+2)*5 hack, or the procrastination hack. Other possibilities include using multiple timers and gradually reducing the size of timeboxes.
